Our History

Irvine Blueberries was established in 1948 by our grandparents, Bob and Lila Irvine.  They purchased 40 acres of  land from Lila's parents (our great-grandparents) who had been using the land for pasture since 1904.  They planted 10 acres of Stanley, Rubel, Jersey and Pemberton blueberries over the course of a few years and ran the u-pick business until the late 1990s when Lila was well into her 90s.   We are still cultivating the original heirloom variety berries that were planted over 60 years ago that are much more flavorful than modern varieties. We stopped using chemicals of any kind on our berries in 2003 and have re-established the tradition of U-pick berries started on this centennial family farm.
